Summer camp for teenagers

 

Tuition of 20 lessons per week including supervised activities:

The school is situated in the heart of the Canadian metropolis, collectively called " the Queen city". It is situated on the Toronto University campus.

Tuition programs

  • Minimum age: 14
  • Maximum age: 18
  • Groups respect the age brackets:
             (14 - 16; 17 - 18)
  • TRANSFERS FROM TRAIN STATION OR AIRPORT NOT INCLUDED: SEE OPTIONS AVAILABLE
  • The young people are monitored during the duration of the stay and a team of organizers supervises all their activities.

  • 20 English lessons per week (4 hours per day) Wednesday excluded,  Saturday included. On Saturday, lessons are less formal than those of the week.
  • Around 12 students per class.
  • Test and certificate of linguistic training
  • University residence accommodation, double occupancy bedroom.
  • Full board, 3 meals per day (buffet most of the time).
  • Laundry service.
  • School material.
  • Courses in the morning, cultural, social and sports activities in the afternoon and evening. Toronto being a city full of life during summer period, number of festivals and special events take place there. The students can take advantage of it at leisure.
  • Medical care of 50.000$CAN per student included.
  • Per week, 1 full day excursion and one half day of visits included in the city or in the neighbourhood. Example:
     - Niagara falls.
     - Canada Wonderland amusement Park.
     - Wild Water Kingdom park.
     - C.N. (Canadian National) tower.
     - Harbour, Ontario Parliament, Ontario royal museum, Sky dome, IMAX movie, beach on the Ontario lake, .......

Starting dates.

For teens aged 14 - 18

  • 2 weeks: June 28, July 12 or 26, August 2.

  • 3 weeks: June 28, July 19 or 26.

  • 4 weeks: June 28, July 12 or 19.

Starting date will be on SUNDAY. It will end on SATURDAY.

    Please note that it is very significant to ensure your child before the departure. This insurance completes the one already held by the summer camp.

     To this end we strongly advise you to view the general conditions of reservation.

    We also would like to specify that your child will be take care of as of the moment of his arrival to the airport or the station and this until the date of expected return. A monitor will undertake to drive your child to the airport or the station for its return and will make sure that his departure proceeds under the best conditions. Additional precision: a qualified medical personnel is always present 24 hours a day.

  • Our prices are available from January 1st to December 31, 2009. These prices never include the Air Fare.

Toronto, SUMMER CAMP

 

UUniversity campus residence accommodation. 

Students are in single or double occupancy bedroom, University residence.
Being a mixed camp, girls and boys are separated and occupy very different floors.

On the campus, many available and complete infrastructures: sports complex, linguistic laboratory, library and areas of varied games.

Excursions

NIAGARA FALLS
Niagara Falls, one of Canada’s most famous sites and a natural wonder of the world gives students a chance to ride the Maid of the Mist boat into the falls, or spend the day visiting wax museums and shops

This 370 acre theme park is a popular summer attraction located just north of Toronto. Highlights include rollercoasters, rides, a water park and spectacular games and entertainment

CN TOWER/HARBOURFRONT/CENTRE ISLAND
This tour provides students with the opportunity to enjoy the many aspects of Toronto's lakeshore attractions. A visit to the famous CN Tower, a chance to peruse some of many shops and activities of Harbourfront and a ferry ride to Centre Island give students plenty of time to get to know one of the best areas of Toronto

CANADIANA TOUR (Georgian Bay and Midland)
By popular demand, the new full day excursion takes students on a tour of some of Central Ontario's most famous sites. A visit Midland's Martyrs' Shrine Church and Sainte-Marie among the Hurons give students an insight into early French Canadian settlement and native culture. The tour then continues with a 2-hour boat cruise on Georgian Bay allowing students a chance to see Ontario's famous "cottage country" and the 30,000 islands.

BLUE JAYS BASEBALL GAME
Let’s Go Blue Jays! Come see Toronto’s two time World Series Champions bat up and play other famous North American teams. Students have the chance to see the famous SkyDome in Toronto, and cheer on the Jays to bat a home run. .

Located just south of Toronto’s downtown core, Ontario Place offers students an afternoon of fun with amusement rides, a water park, bumper boats and more. Ontario Place is also home to the Cinesphere, which stands as the first permanent IMAX® film theatre in the world.

BOAT CRUISE ON LAKE ONTARIO
This popular excursion takes students on a 3 hour dance cruise on Lake Ontario giving students a superb view of Toronto's skyline and lakeshore. St. Michael's students join students from other CISS summer programme providing a unique opportunity to meet new friends. A DJ spins music on the ultra popular dance floor. .
 
ONTARIO SCIENCE CENTRE
The Ontario Science Centre is a world of science and technology, ready to be discovered through interactive exhibits. The new Omnimax theatre is a unique, totally involving film experience, with a state-of-the-art 24 metre dome screen, and digital wrap-around sound

City Information.

              

Metropolis of the country and Ontario capital, on the bank of Ontario lake, it occupies the site of the former French fortress, fortress Rouillé, established in 1749. The English bought the place to the Indians in 1787. Then named York, the city becomes major of this part of Canada. Toronto is the most important industrial and commercial area of the country. The business district near the lake is dominated by skyscrapers and the CN tower (553 m).
 You can visit the Ontario Royal museum with its collections of the Chinese antiques, which are, as it is said, the most beautiful outside of China, and European galleries Samuel, which teem with furniture, with glass factory and with different objects.
 
 Another more picturesque museum is the Bata shoe museum, the surprising finds tell the history of humanity ! In the presentation of the celebrities ' shoes, Elton John numerous shoes met Napoleon Bonaparte 's socks.
 Just a step from the Bata museum is the chic district Bloor-Yorkville, renowned for its prestigious addresses (Chanel, Louis Vuitton), its numerous shops of Canadian dressmakers between Yong Street and Road Avenue, its bookshops, its art galleries, its terraces and its Victorian style houses. Not to miss: the animation corner Yonge and Dundas streets, the fullest of life crossroads of the city with its salesmen of hot dogs and bretzels. The Queen West street (between University and Bathurst) is also worth the bend. The shops of the young "avant garde" dressmakers, the audacious shop windows, the atmosphere of pubs will give you the taste to spend hours there.
 
 If you like antiques and beautiful objects, it is necessary to visit Harbourfront on the edge of Ontario lake. Besides Queen Quay Terminal, shopping center which abounds in furniture and in finds design shops, there is just close an impressive market of antiques. Take advantage there to make a break, because Harbourfront buzzs of activities with the lake Ontario in backcloth. To have an open view on the skyscrapers of the town centre, it is necessary to rise aboard the ferryboat which connects in 20 minutes Harbourfront with islands Ward. Another possibility of visit is to drive along the wines roads towards the Niagara peninsula , famous for its vineyards. It will be possible to end your evening in beauty by going to attend one of the numerous musicals occurring in Toronto
