Our greeting families are recruited with great care. The criteria
of selection are very rigorous and each family must satisfy a
precise schedule of conditions: excellent morality, desire to
communicate with their host, satisfactory social standing. We should specify that the families will only speak with you the
language of the country where you will be. It is the principle of
the immersion courses!

City information
Capital of Tuscany, one of the best art places in the world. Florence gave to Italy its language, its art and its philosophy. Its cultural refinement, always visible, developed in the XV and XVI century. under the patronage of Médicis when artists like
Giotto, Bruneschelli, Donatello, Boticelli and Michael-Angelo radiated there. Works of art still decorate its streets, its buildings and its parks. Piazza della Signora, for example is a true museum of sculpture in the open air, while priceless frescoes and paintings decorate the many churches. The gallery of the offices and the Pitti palace have the most beautiful collections of Renaissance painting in the World. The Michael-Angelo of David and his sculptures of slaves are within the museum of
Accademia. Not far is the Bell-tower of Giotto, and the dome (the cathedral Santa Maria del
Flore) with the enormous cupola of Brunelleschi
One also notices the church San lorenzo with the tombs of Médicis carved by Michael-Angelo, Palazzo
Vecchio, one of the most beautiful Italian Gothic palaces, the Vecchio Big shot which is the oldest bridge on Arno and the immense church Santa Croce which contains frescoes of Giotto as well as the tombs of Michael-Angel,
Machiaveli, Dante, Galileo and Rossini.
